zero2infinity’s vision is to elevate our planetary consciousness. We all live in one Blue Planet and it is on lease to us from future generations.

Imagine a c∞l experiential aerospace company. Where environmental values were pre-existent to its foundation, not incorporated afterwards. Where invention is not repressed but encouraged. A company that is truly thinking out of the box. Imagine a place where creation takes place. Where customers and employees both share a passion for pushing the envelope of what is possible. A sustainable private company, not built on Government programs but on a vision for a better future. This is not a jobs company. There is no baggage from the past, only the heritage of the pioneering spirit.  Only a truly fresh start-up can  bring back Spaceflight to the forefront of technology development and improvement of life on Earth.

Why Elevation?
Because it is hard. Our species has managed to survive because humans are born wanting to do more than what is strictly necessary to survive. We want to do more, we want to survive. Moving safely and sustainably in the air and beyond is not easy, and by excelling at it we can improve our lives beyond the mere benefits of “transportation”. We made tremendous progress in the first three quarters of the 21st century, but we have stalled. With a fresh start the limits will be far again. It’s our journey at zero2infinity.

Our values

We provide sustainable, enjoyable and affordable elevating experiences. Elevation, both in a physical and spiritual sense, guides our business undertaking, for employees, customers, friends, and other stakeholders we are committed to make them feel higher. We believe that seeing our home planet can be an elevating experience, specially if the whole process is elevating. That is, the View is best savored in the knowledge that:

• the actual flight itself is helping preserve our home planet,
• the technologies involved are only used for peace
• and that the Company offering such an experience is a 21st century start-up that was founded on a vision for a more sustainable and ethical Spaceflight

The Team

Jose Mariano Lopez-Urdiales

Jose Mariano Lopez-Urdiales, CEO, founded Zero in 2009 in Barcelona, Spain. Since graduating 1st in Aeronautical Engineering from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid he has been involved in a host of cutting-edge projects such as building and flying microgravity payloads for the European Space Agency in the Netherlands, airline strategy for the Boston Consulting Group, rocket science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the Ariane 5 Evolution Space launcher, advanced Air Traffic Management for Boeing “Phantom Works,  or orchestrating a regional aerospace development plan as the Manager of the Barcelona Aeronautics and Space Association from 2006 to 2009. He lectures in Space Vehicles at the Universidad Politécnica de Cataluña. A graduate of UPM, ISU, CDI and MIT, he enjoys playing badminton and cooking. The next video shows Zero’s founder enjoying a short dose of microgravity.

Josep Maria Lladó Costa

Josep Maria Llado founded and heads the second largest hot air balloon company in the World by sales, Ultramagic. An Aeronautical Engineer from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and MBA from ESADE, he has logged more than 3 thousand hours of balloon flight as pilot. Ultramagic started as a private balloon flight in Africa and has now sold over 1,400 balloons in more than 30 countries. Josep Maria is also a private airplane pilot and an accomplished adventure balloonist. He has won many competitive awards, including 5 Championships of Spain, a 2nd place in the World Air Games in 2001 (Seville) and 3 times winner of the Winter Chateau d’Oex (Switzerland). Having flown extensively at various places like the Alps, Andes, North Pole, Libya, Morocco, Tanzania, Rwanda, Congo, Namibia, USA, Canada, Japan, India and many European countries he has a unique experience and understanding of the experiences that soaring over the Earth can offer. Josep Maria was born in 1955 and is married with 4 daughters.

Cesar Perez de Tudela

One of Spain most charismatic and accomplished mountain explorers, Cesar has also degrees in Law and Journalism from Universidad Complutense de Madrid as well as a PhD in Crisis Information Management form the same university. He has written over 30 books on alpinism and extreme experiences. He has explored the Himalayas, Papua, the Cotopaxi (Earth highest Volcano), 4 ascents of the Aconcagua (2 alone), the Artic and the list is unending. He defines himself as a metaphysic alpinist. Among other awards, he is Honorary Member of the Spanish Geographic Society, Academician of the Royal Doctoral Academy of Spain, Gold Medal of the Royal Order of Sport Merit. He is married.

Jacinto Garcia Palacios

Jacinto has more than 30 years of international business experience and has focused on the satellite communications and media industries during most of his career. Mr. Palacios holds a Masters and First Class Degree with honors in Physics Engineering from Ecole Polytechnique de Montreal, Canada. Mr. Palacios has held senior positions for several high-tech companies including Indra, Comitas, Gate, Aurigae and Plimpton. His most relevant positions includes CEO of Matra Group and Matra Data Systems Iberica between 1988 and 1993, Vice-President at the direction of the International Affairs at Lagardere Group in Paris between 1993 and 1999, CEO of Hispasat between 1999 and 2005. Since 2005, he was responsible for developing ONDAS Media’s commercial and governmental initiatives and operations throughout Europe and currently he is an independent aerospace business consultant.
